Republicans are still Stupid

A far-reaching anti-choice bill, introduced by Republican Chris Smith and supported by 173 members of the House, includes a provision that could redefine rape in the realm of federal funding for reproductive health care.

Right now, federal dollars can't be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman's life is in danger. But the Smith bill would narrow that use to "cases of 'forcible' rape but not statutory or coerced rape."

As far too many women know, bruises and broken bones do not define rape - a lack of consent does. Please sign the petition today.

Looking for Fanfic/Podfic Writers!

I just received my new "netbook" (which I posted about here) and finally can read on the go without the need for my sweet laptop but I need to know if anybody who writes is willing to convert their stories to .pdf or .epub (especially the novel sized ones...).

As for podfic I need more in my fandoms, I just saw on my list two postings: one for Sherlock Holmes (John/Sherlock) and Star Trek (McCoy/Kirk) which I will be picking up soon. People, if you visit, you know I am a slash shipper (my newest is Criminal Minds - Morgan/Reid), I found just one at audofic and you know which pairing I gravitate to so I would love more podfics.

Enough begging.

Why new layout???

If you're here then you are seeing the preview to my latest journal makeover... in progress. I decided on the whim to go with my new shiny fandom of Criminal Minds (Criminal Minds is an American police procedural drama that premiered September 22, 2005 on CBS. The series follows a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. ) and since I am a shipper, I have found a real nice pairing of Derek Morgan and Spencer Reid to my liking. The show is dark but it is has such a great chemistry among the actors and their characters. In RL, they all have twitter, except Shemar Moore/Derek Morgan (which I don't blame him) and they talk to each other as well as their fans. On the show they are and act like a family trying with all their neuroses to protect each other from outside forces even when at times they can be self-destructing. As for the twitter thing, the rest of the group I believe is still trying to get Shemar Moore on but in the meantime Matthew Gray Gubler/Spencer Reid has decided to sometime post as Shemar on his account which has no doubt has Mr. Moore rolling his eyes on. However Mr. Gubler decided to go silly and cute on one of his latest tweet pic:

Getting the Internet back in the Apartment

I was already going to go with AT&T and then I went into Best Buy and then while drooling over almost obtainable wide screen television sets and then I see red, the red that comcast wear and next thing I know he's talking about getting me a deal for TV and Internet service.

I haven't have Internet since Jan and it's getting cold and the library while lovely don't want to go all the time to get to talk to people. I never really had a problem with comcast (service I had before I broke it off with them) except price but the intro price (I'm a new customer again) with the same price I paid just for internet but after the six months with comcast I will be paying 30 dollars more.

AT&T is DSL service and is less expensive than Comcast but I never had DSL so I'l need new equipment and the intro and regular price is so tempting...

So if you have At&T or Comcast, tell me should I go with DSL (cheaper) or Cable (not cheaper) and why?

Missing Actor

I'm sorry I haven't been around, but things came up in RL but I could tonight and reading articles. At first I thought this isn't real since I really haven't seen any articles talking about it but it might of been suppressed to give them more time to look for him, because it's another country and the info is slow coming out but I'm starting to think it might be true.

Here is one from Gather.com

Andrew Koenig, most famous for 1980s role as "Boner" in the sitcom Growing Pains" has gone missing. He was last seen on Valentine's Day in Vancover, British Columbia. There to see the Olympics, pehaps? At any rate, he never caught his flight back to the U.S. and no one has heard from him since.

Friends and family are asking anyone who has any info on his whereabouts to contact Detective Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.

The 42 year-old Koenig had recently been working as a camera operator on the show "Never Not Funny". In between his current gig and Growing Pains he had also had a role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (hid dad was Lt. Chekhov on the original Star Trek) and had been performing with improv groups in Los Angeles. He was arrested in 2008 for protesting at the Rose Bowl on behalf of the country of Burma.

According to IMDB, Koenig is not married and has no children.

It look like his disappearance has been posted at ohnotheydidnt

I will suspend my grumpness of my bad day today and wish every one a happy new year. Today I was running around like a chicken without a head and only got half of things done because everybody decides to call off work because it new years eve.

So I sit here eating very nice grapefruit instead of juicing it, have the heater on and watching a 48 hours marathon I will say happy new year and show you another today's picture from my dreamwidth journal.
